summer 2015
In 2015, the 3rd year of the program, lessons revolved around an overarching essential question: How will climate change impact life in Nānākuli? As a final project, students worked on projects that will improve the sustainability of their community. The class ended with a hō‘ike on evening of July 17, 2015 at which family and community members as well as land managers came to see and celebrate the students’ accomplishments. Students made oral presentations on their project and performed ‘oli and mele as taught during the summer program.
